Two weeks and counting...

The expedition team is set and we are only two weeks away from the climb!

The team is flying in from all corners of the globe - Fabio from Brazil, Matjaz and Valerija from Slovenia, Nadir from China and myself from South Africa. What a great group!

Yesterday, I purchased the last bits of equipment and took my hiking boots for another spin to break them in.

We will hike through tropical to sub-zero zones ,so there is lots to think about in terms of what to bring. All the experts say the key lies in permiable layers to ensure you keep wind and rain out and let the blood sweat and tears out.

We will all arrive in Moshi, Tanzania on Saturday February 6th and start our climb on the 7th. We should be Summit on February the 13th.

We will keep you posted through this blog on our journey to reach Africa's highest peak!

  2. Seamus - when you're done with the highest peak in Africa, I expect you to summit the highest in Asia. No more of this pansy hill strolling. :-)
